BLAST Open Porto ends on Sunday afternoon with a best-of-five. The same two teams met in a final about a month ago.
Team Spirit and MOUZ play the BLAST Open Porto grand final at four in the afternoon Portuguese time, ten at night in Singapore. Best-of-five, sixteen teams reduced to two over twelve days.
The tournament was run in two countries. The group stage was in Copenhagen from 26 August, the playoffs in Porto. Both finalists were seeded straight into the semi-finals.
Spirit beat Team Falcons 2-0 on Saturday, 13-8 on Nuke and 13-11 on Ancient. donk took 34 kills across the two maps and Spirit's lowest fragger still finished on 29. MOUZ beat Vitality 2-0, 13-11 on Dust2 and 13-7 on Mirage, with Spinx on 40-28 and xelex on 39-29. ZywOo had 41 kills in the loss, which is the shape most Vitality defeats take.
The quarter-finals on Friday went Falcons over G2 2-0 and Vitality over FURIA 2-1, the FURIA series going Nuke, Cache and Dust2.
The two finalists have recent history. MOUZ beat Spirit in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 final about a month ago. Spirit won the Esports World Cup in August, 3-1 over FUT, with donk taking the MVP.
The prize pool is 1,100,000 dollars, split into a 700,000 club share and a 400,000 player share, with the winners taking 150,000 of the player money and 100,000 of the club money. Figures published elsewhere disagree, usually by quoting one half of the split as the whole.
