Arsenal fight back to beat Leeds 2-1 and draw level with Man City as Chelsea thrash Bournemouth 5-1
Calafiori and Guimaraes turned the game around for Arsenal against Leeds, while Henderson and Joao Pedro both scored twice in Chelsea's 5-1 rout of Bournemouth.
Champions Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Leeds United 2-1 at the Emirates on Saturday 10 October and draw level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Chelsea put five past Bournemouth, Ipswich Town scored twice late to beat Fulham, and 10-man Brighton won at Sunderland. Here is how Matchweek 6 went in England before Sunday's games.
Arsenal 2-1 Leeds: substitutes turn it around
Arsenal struggled in the first half and managed only one shot on target. Leeds had the better chances, and David Raya made saves to deny Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson. Daniel Farke's side went ahead in the 55th minute when James Justin finished from just inside the box after a cross from Gudmundsson.
Mikel Arteta's changes swung the game. Riccardo Calafiori equalised from a Ben White pass, beating James Trafford. Eight minutes later substitute Bruno Guimaraes finished a flowing move: Declan Rice set him up with a backheel and he struck first time from the edge of the area.
Arsenal now have 15 points from six games, five wins and one defeat, the 3-0 loss to Brighton last month. City stay top on goal difference with a game in hand. Leeds lost a league game for the first time this season. They had let in only three league goals before this match and stay on nine points.
Chelsea 5-1 Bournemouth: two up inside three minutes
Xabi Alonso's Chelsea bounced back from their defeat at Brentford before the international break in style. Jordan Henderson scored in the second minute from a Cole Palmer pass, and Morgan Rogers added a second a minute later. According to the club, Chelsea had never before led a Premier League game by two goals so early.
Joao Pedro made it 3-0 just after half-time. Evanilson pulled one back for Bournemouth in the 51st minute, but Joao Pedro struck again in the 67th and Henderson completed his double three minutes later on his home debut. Sky Sports reported that the win lifted Chelsea to fifth.
Villa and Brentford share four goals
Aston Villa and Brentford drew 2-2 at Villa Park. Yehor Yarmoliuk put Brentford ahead after 10 minutes, and Nicolas Jackson equalised almost straight away. John McGinn looked to have won it for Villa in the 77th minute, set up by Johan Manzambi. Within about two minutes Kristoffer Ajer turned in a Jaidon Anthony delivery to keep Brentford unbeaten.
Late drama at Portman Road and the Stadium of Light
At Ipswich, Ryan Sessegnon gave Alvaro Arbeloa's Fulham the lead in the 55th minute. Gary O'Neil's side hit back late. Abdoul Ouattara equalised in the 88th minute, and Dara O'Shea won it in stoppage time.
Brighton won 2-0 at Sunderland despite playing most of the second half with 10 men. Maxim De Cuyper scored in the 53rd minute. A few minutes later Pascal Struijk was sent off after a VAR review for denying Wilson Isidor a clear goalscoring chance. Jaouen Hadjam sealed the win in stoppage time on his Premier League debut.
