ONIC Philippines Have Not Lost a Series and the M8 Finals Are Going to Turkiye in January
Two Mobile Legends leagues are running in parallel toward a world championship that leaves Southeast Asia for the first time.
MPL Philippines Season 18 is a quarter of the way through and ONIC Philippines have won all four of their series, 8-1 in individual games. Team Liquid PH are 3-1, TNC 2-1, Team Falcons PH 2-2. Aurora Gaming PH and Twisted Minds PH have not won a series between them.
The regular season runs from 21 August to 10 October, three match days a week, eight teams, double round robin, best-of-three. Six make the playoffs. Two go to the world championship.
In Indonesia, MPL ID Season 18 has nine teams and runs to 18 October at XO Hall, with playoffs in November at a venue nobody has named. Bigetron by Vitality are 5-0 and Team Liquid ID 5-1. The prize pool is 4.86 billion rupiah, about 272,000 dollars, and both finalists qualify for M8.
M8 is the part worth marking. The grand finals go to Turkiye in January 2027, the first M Series held in Europe, and the wild card stage goes to Thailand, which has never hosted one. Dates, venues and prize pool have not been announced.
Moonton is also reorganising into five regions for 2026, with a Championship Tour piloting in Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Americas. What that does to Southeast Asian slot allocation at M8 has not been spelled out anywhere.
Team Liquid PH won Season 17 in May, 4-2 over Team Falcons PH, a third title in a row.
