Evo France leaves Nice for Paris in 2027 as Evo Singapore prepares for its Marina Bay Sands debut in January

Evo France will move to Paris in October 2027. Evo Singapore, the series' first stop in South-East Asia, comes first, from 15 to 17 January.

Evo France is moving from Nice to Paris for its 2027 edition. The organisers announced the move at the weekend as this year's event in Nice was finishing. Before then, the Evo circuit makes its first stop in South-East Asia, with Evo Singapore at Marina Bay Sands from 15 to 17 January 2027. That is the nearest Evo yet for Malaysian players and fans. This follows on from the Evo France 2026 results, which saw DualKevin win Street Fighter 6 and JeonDDing take the Tekken 8 title.

Why Evo France is moving

Evo France will be run in Paris in October 2027 by New Esports Org. (NEO), which organises the event for Evo's owner RTS. RTS is in turn owned by Qiddiya. No Paris venue has been named yet.

The organisers' main stated reason is space. NEO president Bertrand Amar told Nice-Matin, "We need a bigger venue", saying the event had reached the maximum capacity of the Palais des Expositions. The Esports Advocate reported that start.gg registrations rose by 15%, from 3,498 to 4,010, between the two Nice editions. It also found that entries fell in all five games that ran in both years, including a 36% drop for Street Fighter 6.

The move has had a mixed reaction from the European fighting game community. EventHubs noted complaints about losing Nice and about Paris being more expensive. Some players also argued that French esports is already too centred on Paris.

Evo Singapore: what to know

Evo Singapore runs from 15 to 17 January 2027 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. It has a guaranteed prize pool of US$125,000 across five main games: Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and Guilty Gear Strive.

Tekken 8 works differently at this event. There is no traditional Evo bracket. Instead, the Tekken tournament is the Last Chance Qualifier for the Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals. That event runs from 14 to 17 January at Marina Bay Sands with a separate US$300,000 prize pool, and the qualifier winner takes the last place in the finals bracket.

Paris joins Las Vegas, Japan, Singapore, Morocco and Brazil on Evo's 2027 list of locations.

Tekken 8 news from the Nice weekend

Bandai Namco used the Evo France stage to show Tekken 8's next DLC fighter. A gameplay trailer for the boxing kangaroo Roger Jr. was shown just before the Tekken 8 top eight. Early access starts on 12 November and general access on 17 November, according to EventHubs and Inven Global.

The trailer ended with the first look at Yujiro Hanma, the guest character from the Grappler Baki series. A full trailer for him is expected on 17 January at the Tekken World Tour Finals in Singapore.
