One Point Eight Million Dollars Is Decided on Saturday and the Same Game Is a Medal Event Two Weeks Later

The King Pro League Summer final is on Saturday 12 September, closing a season that opened on 17 June. The prize pool is about 1.8 million US dollars, with roughly 531,000 to the champion and 177,000 to the runner-up.

Eighteen teams played in three groups of six, including defending champion Kuaishou Gaming. The season ran through group play to 5 July, a round robin to 26 July, seat decider matches on 27 and 28 July, a double-elimination stage from 30 July to 23 August and playoffs from 27 August to 6 September. It broke in early August for the Honor of Kings World Cup.

That World Cup, held at the Esports World Cup in Paris with three million dollars on the line, went to Kuaishou Gaming, who beat AG.AL 4-3. KSG.JuHao took the final MVP. Geekay Esports beat ROC Esports 3-0 for third.

Two weeks after the KPL final, Honor of Kings becomes a medal event at the Asian Games in Nagoya, contested by eleven teams on 27 and 28 September. Malaysia named it one of five priority disciplines. Thailand also qualified.

The KPL runs on Chinese time, the same clock as Malaysia and Singapore, so Saturday's final is a regional evening watch.
