Europe Won the Solheim Cup Fifteen Points to Thirteen After Dominating the Sunday Singles at Bernardus Golf
Captain Anna Nordqvist, who retired as a player two weeks earlier, regained the trophy the United States had won in Virginia in 2024.
Europe won the Solheim Cup on 13 September 2026, beating the United States 15-13 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands after a strong showing in the Sunday singles.
Europe needed 14.5 points to regain the trophy, and Lottie Woad and Carlota Ciganda closed out the victory. Woad beat Auston Kim 2 and 1, Charley Hull defeated Megan Khang 3 and 2, Linn Grant beat Angel Yin 4 and 3, Nastasia Nadaud beat Andrea Lee 3 and 2 and Nanna Koerstz Madsen beat Allisen Corpuz 2 and 1.
The Americans won singles matches through Alison Lee, who beat Esther Henseleit 1 up, Lauren Coughlin, who beat Leona Maguire 2 and 1, and Rose Zhang, who beat Celine Boutier 2 up. The United States had won the previous edition 15.5-12.5 in Virginia in 2024.
Europe were captained by Anna Nordqvist, who retired from playing two weeks before the matches. "It's been really hard retiring two weeks ago and then doing this," she said, according to Golf Channel, adding that the win "feels so good". United States captain Angela Stanford said the Europeans "played great today" with their backs against the wall.
The result was Europe's third victory in the last four editions of the contest, according to Golf Channel, and the United States remain without a win on foreign soil since 2015. The 2026 match was the 20th edition of the Solheim Cup.
