Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship Opens August 19 in Paris With 40 Duos and $1 Million
The Reload finale runs 19 to 22 August at the Esports World Cup, moving from a two-day group stage through a survival round to a single decisive finals day, with one duo per club allowed on stage.
The Reload Elite Series reaches its conclusion in Paris this week. The Championship runs from 19 to 22 August at the Esports World Cup, with 40 duos playing for a $1 million prize pool across four days.
How the four days break down
- 19-20 August — Group Stage. The full 40-duo field plays across two days to establish seeding and thin the bracket.
- 21 August — Survival. A single elimination day that cuts the field ahead of the finale.
- 22 August — Finals. One day decides the title and the bulk of the prize money.
Compressing the decisive stage into a single day is a deliberate choice. It rewards duos who can hold their nerve across a short run of games rather than those who accumulate steadily over a long series, and it makes the survival round on 21 August the genuine pressure point of the week.
The one-duo-per-club rule
Reload's qualification path is open — any player can compete, and mixed duos are allowed regardless of which organisation each player is signed to. But only one duo per club may officially represent that club at the Esports World Cup. Where multiple duos from the same organisation qualify, the earliest-qualifying pair takes the slot.
Clubs also had to publicly announce their contracted rosters by 30 April 2026 to be eligible for Club Championship points, which ties the Fortnite result back into the broader EWC standings rather than leaving it as a standalone event.
Where it sits in EWC's closing week
Reload is one of six tournaments closing out the Esports World Cup, which wraps on 23 August. Running alongside it:
| Event | Dates |
|---|---|
| Counter-Strike 2 playoffs | 19-22 August |
| Rocket League | 12-16 August |
| PUBG Mobile World Cup | 14-16 August |
| Chess | 11-15 August |
| Fortnite Reload Elite Series | 19-22 August |
The CS2 playoffs and the Reload Championship share almost identical windows, which makes the 22nd the densest day on the schedule before the Club Championship is settled on the 23rd.
Why $1 million matters here
A seven-figure pot for a mode-specific event — Reload rather than the main battle royale format — is a signal about where Fortnite's competitive scene is being pointed. It sits alongside the separate Fortnite Global Championship circuit rather than replacing it, and it gives duos a second high-value route to a stage appearance in a calendar year.
Following it on Playdash
Playdash covers the Esports World Cup across its full title list, with tournament outright and stage-progression markets for Fortnite alongside CS2, Rocket League and the mobile titles. Reload markets follow the four-day structure, so the group stage, survival round and finals day are priced as separate events.
