Sangare Signs New Forest Deal as Glasner Era Takes Shape

Nottingham Forest have tied down midfielder Ibrahim Sangare to a new contract, with the Ivory Coast international agreeing a deal that runs until 2029. The announcement continues a summer of change at the City Ground under new head coach Oliver Glasner.

Sangare said signing the extension was also a chance to thank supporters for their backing through a difficult campaign, adding that his three years at the club have become "a family" for him.

The new deal comes as Glasner, who replaced Vitor Pereira after his surprise departure last month, continues shaping his squad ahead of the new season. The former Crystal Palace boss made Austria international Xaver Schlager his first signing on a free transfer, reuniting the pair after previously working together at Wolfsburg, while several fringe players have departed on loan or permanently, including Joe Gardner's move to Falkirk.

Forest have also been active on the preseason friendly circuit, most recently drawing 1-1 with Portuguese side Vitoria SC, as Glasner continues to build fitness and understanding across a squad that will open the new Premier League campaign at home to Leeds.
