Fnatic Chief Gaming Officer Carn Outlined Clean Slate League of Legends Rebuild After Disappointing Two Thousand and Twenty Six Season

Speaking on an X Space, cArn confirmed a new general manager will be hired within weeks after Fnatic missed the World Championship for the first time since twenty sixteen.

Fnatic are preparing a major rebuild of their League of Legends division for the 2027 LEC season, with chief gaming officer Patrik "cArn" Sättermon setting out the plans during an X Space on 21 September 2026, as reported by Sheep Esports on 22 September.

The British organisation finished the LEC Summer Split with a 3-6 record, failed to reach the playoffs and missed the World Championship for the first time since 2016. cArn described the year as disappointing and called for "very, very honest self-reflection" before next season.

"I think a massive change is required for us to build more long-term sustainable teams," he said. Fnatic acknowledged that players had not been given enough support, particularly their two LEC rookies, and plans to overhaul its coaching and performance structures.

A new League of Legends general manager is due to be hired within two to three weeks, while cArn will stay on as chief gaming officer but reduce his day-to-day involvement. Park "Lospa" Joon-hyeong, one of the team's rookies alongside Panagiotis "Empyros" Tantis, is under contract until 2027, while the rest of the roster's deals expire at the end of 2026.

Fnatic are also considering reviving an academy project, having disbanded Fnatic TQ in 2023, although a decision depends on how Europe's Tier 2 ecosystem develops.

The next steps are a full evaluation of the roster and coaching staff and the general manager appointment, with the LEC free agency period opening once contracts expire in November.
