MPL Malaysia Season Eighteen Restarts on Friday With Selangor Red Giants Unbeaten and a Two-Week Break for the Asian Games Ahead
Eight partner teams, a double round-robin of best-of-threes at Quill City Mall, and a regular season that runs to 18 October with two M8 places at the end of it.
MPL Malaysia Season 18 restarts for week three on Friday 28 August, having begun on 14 August. The regular season runs to 18 October with the season closing on 1 November, played at the MPL MY Arena on level six of the Quill City Mall Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

All eight are partner teams under the long-term programme announced in February, run by Moonton with the Malaysia Esports Federation and Esports Integrated. The season theme is "8 Cerita".
Format
Double round-robin, every match a Bo3, top six to the playoffs. Seeds three to six play a single-elimination first round; seeds one and two get a bye into a double-elimination second round. Everything is Bo5 except the lower bracket final and grand final, which are Bo7. The top two qualify for the M8 World Championship.

The break nobody should miss
The league pauses from 21 September to 4 October for the Asian Games, where Mobile Legends is one of eleven esports medal events and Malaysia is one of twelve nations qualified through the June qualifier in Singapore. Two weeks of no MPL, and a national team competing for a medal instead.
