What RRQ Hoshi and Geek Fam need

Each team plays 16 regular-season matches, and RRQ Hoshi have three left. They play ONIC on Sunday, then NAVI and Geek Fam on 16 and 17 October. Even with three wins, they would finish on six. EVOS and Bigetron already have seven, so RRQ Hoshi can now only aim for sixth place. To get there, they would need ONIC and Dewa United to finish no higher than six wins, and they would need to win any tiebreak. Geek Fam are in the same position, with EVOS, Alter Ego and RRQ Hoshi still to play.

For Malaysian fans, there is a familiar feeling. RRQ's Malaysian team, RRQ Tora, are also in seventh place in MPL MY. They kept their own hopes alive with a 2-1 win over AC Esports on Friday night.
