Worlds 2026 Field Complete: FURIA Book the Last Spot as Team Liquid Win the LCS

FURIA's sweep of LOUD and Team Liquid's LCS title settled the last Worlds places. Here is how the 19-team field and Asia-Pacific's three teams line up.

The field for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship is complete. Two results from the weekend settled the last places: Brazil's FURIA swept LOUD on Saturday, and Team Liquid beat LYON for the LCS title on Sunday. All 19 teams are now known, ten days before the tournament opens in Los Angeles on 15 October.

FURIA take Brazil's second ticket

On Saturday, 3 October, FURIA beat LOUD 3-0 in the CBLOL lower-bracket final. Both finalists qualify for Worlds, so FURIA join LØS, who had already booked their place. LOUD finish third and miss out.

FURIA had to dig in for the sweep. In game two they came back from an early deficit to keep their run alive. Worlds will be another international trip for them this year, after the Americas Cup, MSI and the Esports World Cup.

FURIA and LØS meet in the CBLOL grand final in Rio de Janeiro on 10 October, and that match decides their Worlds path. The winner goes straight to the Swiss stage. The loser starts in the play-in.

Team Liquid are North America's top seed

On Sunday, 4 October, Team Liquid beat LYON 3-1 to win the LCS Summer title. That makes them the LCS first seed for Worlds. Jungler Josedeodo was named Finals MVP after a strong series on picks such as Lee Sin and Qiyana.

Liquid went through the playoffs unbeaten, with a 3-0 win over FlyQuest and a 3-1 win over Cloud9. LYON reached the final through the lower bracket by beating Cloud9 3-1 on Saturday. LYON go to Worlds as the LCS second seed. Cloud9 finish third and go to the play-in.

Who plays the play-in?

Four teams start in the play-in at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles from 15 October: Cloud9, Karmine Corp (LEC third seed), MVK Esports (LCP third seed) and the loser of the CBLOL final. The play-in sends one team to the main event.

The 16-team Swiss stage then moves to Allen, Texas, with the LPL teams among those due to start there on 23 October. Teams need three wins to reach the knockout stage, and three losses send them home. The final is at the Barclays Center in New York on 14 November. The prize pool is US$5 million, with US$1 million for the winners.

Asia-Pacific's three roads

The LCP has three teams, and each takes a different route.

  • Team Secret Whales, the LCP's top seed, go straight into the Swiss stage. In the seeding structure Riot published, they sit in Pool 2 alongside the second seeds from Korea and China.
  • CTBC Flying Oyster, the Taiwanese side, also skip the play-in. As LCP second seed they are in Pool 4.
  • MVK Esports face the longest path. They have to come through the play-in against Cloud9, Karmine Corp and a Brazilian team to reach Texas.

Asia-Pacific fans will be watching closely when the opening-round Swiss matchups are revealed.
