Yoo Young Jin Came Back From Two Down to Beat Lee Young Han Three Two in the ASL Quarter Finals
The Terran player recovered from two early Mutalisk-based defeats, taking the fourth game on Aiolos by holding off a Lurker all-in from the Zerg.
Yoo Young-jin reached the semi-finals of the Google Play ASL Season 22 on 21 September 2026, completing a reverse sweep to beat Lee Young-han 3-2 in the opening quarter-final at FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul.
Lee, the Zerg known as "Typhoon", won the first two games of the best-of-five series with aggressive Mutalisk all-ins. Yoo, playing Terran, then adjusted his defence, prioritising turrets to take the third game.
The fourth game on Aiolos went to Yoo after he held off a Lurker all-in, and he completed the comeback by defending against Mutalisks again in the deciding game. Lee had topped his group in the round of 16, while Yoo had advanced from Group A in second place behind Park Sang-hyeon.
The quarter-finals continue at the same venue on 22 September, when Lee Jae-ho meets Kim Jung-woo, with the winner facing Yoo in the semi-finals. Park Sang-hyeon plays Lee Jae-dong on 28 September and Shin Sang-moon plays Kim Min-chul on 29 September.
All Protoss players were eliminated in the round of 16, leaving three Terran and five Zerg players in the quarter-finals. The semi-finals are scheduled for 5 and 6 October.
