Two Hundred and Ten Runners Left Courmayeur on Friday for Four Hundred and Fifty Kilometres and Thirty-Two Thousand Metres of Climbing
The Tor des Glaciers sends its field around the Aosta Valley on the Alte Vie 3 and 4 with a cut-off of one hundred and ninety hours.
The TOR450 Tor des Glaciers set off from Courmayeur in Italy's Aosta Valley on Friday 11 September 2026 with 210 athletes on the start list. The route covers 450 kilometres and roughly 32,000 metres of positive elevation gain, following the Alte Vie 3 and 4 around the region. Competitors have 190 hours to finish.
The course records stand to Sebastien Raichon of France, who ran 124 hours 53 minutes 45 seconds in 2023, and to Florence Golay-Gmeond, whose 144 hours 27 minutes 34 seconds was set in 2025.
Among the favourites is Franco Colle, a four-time winner of the shorter TOR330, making his debut over the longer distance. Brian Mullins of Ireland, second in 2025, Jarek Gonczarenko and Lorenzo Franco Santin are also expected to contest the front of the race. In the women's field the defending champion Sarah Hansel returns alongside the two-time winner Isabelle Ost.
The TOR330 Tor des Geants, the better-known 330-kilometre event, starts on 13 September.
