The audience numbers
Eight hundred and fifty million viewers globally, up thirteen per cent year on year. Four hundred and forty million hours watched, up twenty-six per cent. Peak concurrent viewership of 4.3 million during the League of Legends tournament. A hundred and seventy-five thousand tickets sold to the competitions themselves, up ninety-four per cent on 2025, and two million total venue and activation visits.
The ticketing number is the one worth sitting with. Nearly doubling paid attendance in a year is a different kind of growth from a stream metric, because it is money and travel rather than a browser tab.
Individual champions of note
Magnus Carlsen repeated as chess champion. Samy "dralii" Hajji won Rocket League for a third Esports World Cup title. Khawaja "M. Zubair" won Tekken 8. Jaime "Craime" Bustos became the youngest champion in the event's history at fifteen.
