Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage: Gen.G, Dplus KIA, KOI and LYON 2-0 as four top seeds sit at 0-2
After two best-of-one rounds in Texas, four teams are one win from the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals, while four regional champions face elimination in Round 3.
The League of Legends World Championship 2026 Swiss Stage has finished its two best-of-one rounds at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. Gen.G, Dplus KIA, Movistar KOI and LYON are the only unbeaten teams at 2-0. At the other end of the table, four first seeds are 0-2 and one more loss would send them home: Anyone's Legend (LPL), Team Liquid Alienware (LCS), Team Secret Whales (LCP) and LØS (CBLOL).
Round 1: a clean sweep for Korea
The opening day on 23 October went the LCK's way. All four Korean teams won, and all four LPL teams lost. LCK first seed Gen.G recovered from a slightly slow start to beat Invictus Gaming. Hanwha Life Esports handled Top Esports comfortably. T1 needed only around 24 minutes to dispatch Brazilian champions LØS, with Doran on Jayce and Oner on Lee Sin both prominent. Dplus KIA beat G2 Esports in a tighter game in which SkewMond's Jarvan IV gave G2 the early edge.
The other results went Movistar KOI over Bilibili Gaming, Karmine Corp over LPL first seed Anyone's Legend, CTBC Flying Oyster over Team Liquid Alienware in a close game, and LYON over Team Secret Whales.
Round 2: Dplus KIA stun T1 late
Regional protection ended in Round 2, which meant the 1-0 bracket produced two all-Korean matches. Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Esports, with AD carry Duro controlling the bot lane. The game of the day was T1 against Dplus KIA. T1 led for long stretches, but Dplus turned it around at about the 40-minute mark, helped by a decisive teamfight from support Career on Renata Glasc.
Movistar KOI beat CTBC Flying Oyster, and LYON edged Karmine Corp in a game Karmine nearly rescued. In the 0-1 bracket the LPL recovered. Top Esports won a close game against Anyone's Legend, Invictus Gaming beat Team Secret Whales with TheShy topping the damage charts on K'Sante, and Bilibili Gaming beat Team Liquid behind Bin's Camille. G2 Esports also got off the mark against LØS.
