Vietnam's GAM Esports exit the Demacia Cup winless as FlyQuest survive the elimination group
GAM Esports lost 2-0 to FlyQuest and Shopify Rebellion and are out of the Demacia Cup. FlyQuest play RED Canids for one of the last two knockout places.
Vietnam's GAM Esports are out of the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational. They lost both of their matches in the elimination round-robin on Wednesday, 7 October, while North America's FlyQuest won the group and stayed alive for one of the last two knockout places.
FlyQuest beat GAM 2-0 and then edged LCS rivals Shopify Rebellion 2-1 to win the group of 0-2 teams. GAM were the only Southeast Asian team in the 12-team field, so the region has no one left in the event.
GAM fail to win a game
The Swiss stage gives teams on 0-2 one more chance: a three-team best-of-three round-robin, with only the winner going through. GAM, FlyQuest and Shopify Rebellion all started the day with 0-2 records.
FlyQuest beat GAM comfortably, winning games in 22 and 26 minutes, with jungler Johnson "Gryffinn" Le on Wukong and Cho'Gath. Shopify Rebellion also beat GAM 2-0, although Insider Gaming said the Vietnamese team made those games harder, lasting 31 and 36 minutes.
That meant GAM finished the Swiss stage without winning a single game. They also had to work in a loaned jungler, Nguyen "tiphat" Tien Phat, for the event.
FlyQuest avenge LCS playoff loss
The group decider between FlyQuest and Shopify Rebellion repeated a recent LCS Summer Playoffs meeting, which Shopify won. This time FlyQuest won game one convincingly behind bot laners Fahad "Massu" Abdulmalek and Michael "Cryogen" Luu. They lost a scrappy game two, then won the decider, where Gryffinn went 6/0/7 on Shyvana.
Last two knockout places decided on Thursday
Six teams have already reached the knockout stage. FEARX, KT Rolster and Team WE went 2-0, and BRION, LGD Gaming and Team Vitality went 2-1 after their wins in Tuesday's round three.
The final two places are decided in Thursday's matches:
- FlyQuest vs RED Canids
- Natus Vincere vs JD Gaming
The winners join the six qualified teams in an eight-team, best-of-five, single-elimination bracket played in person in Beijing. The knockouts begin on 12 October and run until 17 October, which overlaps with the start of the League of Legends World Championship Play-In stage on 15 October.
JD Gaming and NAVI both reached Thursday's decider after losing in round three, JDG 2-0 to LGD Gaming and NAVI 2-1 to BRION. RED Canids lost 2-0 to Vitality.
