Karmine Corp sweep MVK 3-0 in Worlds 2026 Play-In final to claim last Swiss Stage spot

Karmine Corp have taken the last place in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage. The French team beat Vietnam's MVK Esports 3-0 in the Play-In final at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, 18 October (early Monday in Malaysia), winning a rematch of their upper-bracket meeting by the same score. The result completes the 16-team field for the main event in Texas, where Karmine Corp will open against Anyone's Legend, the LPL's first seed.

Three quick, controlled games

None of the three games lasted much past 28 minutes. In Game 1, Karmine Corp won a big fight in the middle of the game and stayed in control, finishing with a 13-2 kill lead, according to GosuGamers.

Game 2 was even more one-sided. Karmine Corp's jungle pressure and an early advantage in the top lane helped them build a lead of around 15,000 gold before they closed it out.

MVK changed their approach for Game 3. They played aggressively from the start and avoided normal laning, which caused trouble for Karmine Corp in the early stages. Their early kills could not stop Karmine Corp for long. Karmine Corp took the game's first Baron, won the decisive team fight around that objective and finished the series.

How the Play-In played out

The Play-In used a double-elimination bracket of best-of-five series. Karmine Corp came through the upper side. They beat Cloud9 Kia in the opening round, then swept MVK 3-0 in the upper-bracket final on Saturday, 17 October. MVK had to go through the lower bracket. Later on Saturday, they beat FURIA 3-1 to set up the rematch.

For Karmine Corp, reaching the Swiss Stage is a milestone in their first appearance at Worlds. MVK leave in 17th place. GosuGamers reported that they take home US$50,000.

What comes next: Anyone's Legend in Texas

The Swiss Stage moves to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. It runs from 23 to 31 October local time, which is 24 October to 1 November in Malaysia. Sixteen teams will compete for eight places in the knockout stage, with a mix of best-of-one and best-of-three matches.

Karmine Corp were drawn from Pool 4 and face Anyone's Legend in Round 1. The first Swiss days in Texas start at 10am Pacific time, which is 1am in Malaysia. Fans in Kuala Lumpur will need to stay up very late or get up early for Round 1.

Can Karmine Corp make a run?

The Play-In showed Karmine Corp at their best in the middle game. They won fights around objectives and turned small leads into comfortable wins. Anyone's Legend will be a much tougher test than MVK. Still, in the Swiss format a team needs three wins to advance and can afford two losses, so one defeat on day one would not end Karmine Corp's tournament.
