Spirit Beat MOUZ Three-One in Porto and That Is Two Trophies in a Month
Dust2, Mirage, Ancient and Nuke, with donk taking the MVP and a fair share of the room arguing for sh1ro.
Team Spirit beat MOUZ 3-1 in the BLAST Open Porto grand final on 6 September. Dust2 went 13-8, Mirage 13-11, Ancient 13-3 and Nuke 13-6.
It is their second trophy in a month, after the Esports World Cup in Paris, and it settles a score: MOUZ beat them in the BLAST Bounty final about a month earlier.
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets took the tournament MVP. A good deal of the coverage argued it should have gone to Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov, who finished the event 70-42 with a 1.36 rating and 80.9 damage per round.
The Esports World Cup ran from 12 to 23 August in Paris with 32 teams and a two million dollar pool. Spirit took the 600,000 dollar top prize. FUT were second on 340,000 and Legacy third on 190,000. The prize split for Porto itself was not published.
The calendar does not let up. FISSURE Playground 3 is in Suzhou from 8 to 13 September, sixteen teams for a million dollars. StarLadder StarSeries Fall is in Barcelona from 17 to 20 September, eight teams for 500,000. Logitech G Play Connect is in Warsaw from 17 to 23 September, twelve teams for 100,000.
