ALGS Split 2 Pro League Runs to September 13 With the Las Vegas Playoffs on October 29 and $7 Million in Year 6
Four regions, 30 teams each and a group stage already under way. Split 2 Playoffs pay $2 million at the Orleans Arena before the Year 6 Championship returns to Sapporo in January.
The Apex Legends Global Series is into the back half of Year 6, a season carrying $7 million across the calendar, up a million on Year 5. Split 2 Pro League group play started on 21 August and runs to 13 September, when the Regional Finals decide who travels.
Four regions, 30 teams apiece
Americas, EMEA, APAC North and APAC South each field 30 Pro League teams: 22 direct invites plus eight who came through the Online Opens in March.
Two rule changes are worth knowing for Year 6. There is a roster transfer window after Match Day 6, and a team must play at least 12 Pro League matches for its Championship Points to count. Legend Bans, previously a Pro League feature, now extend down into the Challenger Circuit.
Early Split 2 standings had ZETA DIVISION clear on 89 points in APAC North, Gen.G on 70 in APAC South, and a three-way tie in EMEA between Alliance, Bandits and Mamma Mia around 64.
The two LANs left
Split 2 Playoffs: Orleans Arena, Las Vegas, 29 October to 1 November. 40 teams, $2 million.
Year 6 Championship: Daiwa House PREMIST DOME, Sapporo, 28-31 January 2027. 40 teams, $2 million. Thirty-two of those places go on Championship Points, the last eight through a Last Chance Qualifier.
Split 1 Playoffs were played inside the Esports World Cup in Paris on 7-11 July. UNLIMIT won it on 93 points, closing out Game 10 of the match point finals for $600,000, ahead of Team Vision on 87, Sentinels on 83, ZEDI Esports on 76 and ZETA DIVISION on 69.
Why match point matters for pricing
ALGS finals run to match point: a team must reach the threshold and then win a game outright. That structure produces long finals days and frequent lead changes, and it means a side sitting on the line for several games is not the same proposition as a side sitting on the line with a strong closing map pool.
The reigning Championship winner is Oblivion, an orgless roster that won the Year 5 finale in Sapporo in January after coming through the Last Chance Qualifier - a reminder of how flat the top end of this field can be.
