Astralis plan to replace HooXi and jabbi, with siuhy and cmtry linked ahead of the Singapore Major
HLTV reports Astralis want to replace HooXi and jabbi straight away after contract talks stalled. siuhy and FUT's cmtry, on loan, are linked to the rebuilt lineup.
Astralis are reportedly planning a major Counter-Strike 2 rebuild ahead of the Singapore Major. HLTV reported on 7 October that the Danish club wants to replace Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard at once, and later reports said Ukrainian AWPer Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov could join on loan from FUT to play as a rifler.
If the reports are accurate, Astralis would have just one Danish player, an unusual lineup for a team long built around Danish talent.
Contract talks have stalled
HLTV, citing several sources, said Astralis are looking for an "immediate double change". jabbi's contract runs out at the end of November and HooXi's at the end of the year, and talks with the players have reportedly stalled. HLTV said the club wants to avoid losing key players for free when their deals end.
The timing is surprising given recent results. Astralis recently won Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona by beating Nemiga in the final, their first LAN title in nearly seven years. HLTV's projections show them all but certain to qualify for PGL Major Singapore. Astralis did not reply to HLTV's request for comment.
siuhy and cmtry linked
HLTV named Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek, the former MOUZ in-game leader, as a target. Team Liquid recently released the Polish player after three months on the bench.
Dust2.us later reported, citing Dust2.dk and sources of journalist Sebastien "KRL" Perez, that Astralis are set to sign cmtry on loan from FUT. According to KRL, he would play as a rifler, a role he has not played since 2023, when he was a secondary AWPer and rifler for NAVI Youth. FUT benched cmtry on 1 October and replaced him with Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia. Dust2.us said cmtry had a 0.96 rating over the last three months.
The reported new lineup
Dust2.dk's reported lineup is:
- Victor "Staehr" Staehr
- Love "phzy" Smidebrant
- Gytis "ryu" Glusauskas
- Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek
- Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov (loan)
- Coach: Filip "NEO" Kubski
None of these moves has been officially confirmed. According to HLTV's figures for the last three months, HooXi, aged 31, has a 0.93 rating, while 22-year-old Staehr has the highest rating on the team at 1.21.
Why it matters for the Singapore Major
Singapore is in the same time zone as Malaysia, so the Major will be shown at convenient times for local fans. Valve's ranking system (VRS) determines Major invitations, and Valve has just changed its rules on region swaps, which has caused debate in the scene. Astralis appear safe on points, but a new lineup would have limited time to settle before playing in Singapore.
