Michal Dubicki Won a Fifth European Timbersports Title at Forty Five on Home Ground in Poland
Sixteen competitors from ten nations cut through four axe and saw disciplines inside two minutes, six times over, at an agricultural fair in West Pomerania.
Michal Dubicki won the STIHL Timbersports European Trophy at Barzkowice near Stargard in West Pomerania on 13 September 2026, taking the title for a record fifth time on home ground.
The 45-year-old from Konary in Greater Poland set his best time of 58.23 seconds in the semi-final and beat Emil Hansson of Sweden in the final. Hansson, 25, is the Swedish champion, ranked fifth in the world in the format, and won the European Trophy himself in 2022. Jacek Groenwald of Poland finished third.
Sixteen competitors from ten nations took part in a knockout competition staged during the AGRO POMERANIA agricultural trade fair. Each run puts four disciplines back to back, alternating saw and axe, inside a maximum of two minutes: the stock saw, the underhand chop, the single buck and the standing block chop. Athletes must complete the full course six times across the day, and places turn on fractions of a second, a clean saw start or one cleaner stroke in the final chop.
Also in the field was Matyas Klima of the Czech Republic, 27, who had reached the previous year's final against Dubicki. Dubicki finished fifth at the World Trophy in Budapest earlier in 2026, and has now won five European titles and five Polish national titles.
The event was broadcast live on YouTube, Facebook and Unbeaten TV. The individual world championship follows at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on 31 October 2026.
