Rambolek Missed the Bantamweight Limit by Six-Tenths of a Pound and Lost His ONE Belt Before Stepping Into the Ring
Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon was stripped of his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai title after missing weight by 0.6lb before facing Yod-IQ in Bangkok.
Thai fighter Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon has lost his ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the scales before his first defence at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The 23-year-old weighed 145.6 pounds at the official weigh-in, 0.6 pounds over the 145-pound bantamweight limit. He passed the hydration test but the weight miss meant he was stripped of the championship ahead of his bout with Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri at The Inner Circle 30 on 11 September.
Both fighters agreed to go ahead with the contest at a catchweight of 145.6 pounds. Under the terms, only Yod-IQ can win the now-vacant title. If Rambolek wins, the belt will remain vacant.
Rambolek won the title in March by beating Nabil Anane over five rounds and arrived on a six-fight winning streak. Yod-IQ, 24, who trains with the PK Saenchai team, has won 10 fights in a row and has not lost since December 2023. His most recent victory was against the previously unbeaten Kiamran Nabati.
The outcome of the fight will decide whether the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai division has a new champion or remains without a titleholder.
