LYON and LOS Book Worlds 2026 Tickets as the LoL World Championship Field Nearly Fills Up
LYON beat Shopify Rebellion and LOS beat LOUD to reach League of Legends Worlds 2026, with only one Brazilian place left to decide.
Two more teams qualified for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship over the weekend. On Saturday, LYON took North America's last spot. On Sunday, LOS became the first Brazilian team to qualify. Worlds starts on 15 October in the United States, and only one place is still open.
LYON 3-1 Shopify Rebellion (26 September)
LYON's summer did not go to plan. They won LCS Spring and finished third at MSI, but a 3-1 loss to Cloud9 in the Summer playoffs sent them to the lower bracket. Their opponent was Shopify Rebellion, who had been the playoffs' sixth seed with a 3-4 record. Shopify then went on a strong lower-bracket run that included reverse sweeps against Sentinels and FlyQuest.
LYON's experience showed against them. According to Dot Esports:
- Game two lasted only 26 minutes, and LYON won the kill count 23-3.
- Game four was settled by mid laner Saint on Twisted Fate. After a top-lane 2v2 went wrong for Shopify, his map-wide plays finished off the series.
LYON join Cloud9 and Team Liquid as North America's third Worlds team. LYON also play the loser of Team Liquid vs Cloud9 in the LCS lower bracket final. That series, on 4 October, will affect how the three NA teams are seeded.
LOS 3-2 LOUD (27 September)
In Brazil, LOS beat LOUD 3-2 in the CBLOL Split 2 upper bracket final. It was revenge for their only regular-season defeat, and it also got them a place in the CBLOL final and at Worlds. Brazilian outlet Mais Esports singled out ADC Duduhh's 5/0/3 Kog'Maw game in game one and top laner Curse's 8/1/7 in game two. Zest and Ackerman then led a very one-sided game five.
LOS do not know their Worlds seeding yet. According to Mais Esports, if they win the CBLOL final they go in as Brazil's first seed and start in the Swiss Stage. If they lose, they go in as the second seed and start in the Play-In.
LOUD still have a chance at the second Brazilian place. They play FURIA in an elimination match next week.
