For a title whose competitive scene has historically been almost entirely domestic to China, breaking that barrier at a tournament staged in France is a meaningful data point about whether the game travels.

There is a footnote worth noting for anyone following AG.AL. The same organisation won the Esports World Cup Club Championship outright a fortnight later, taking 5,300 points and a seven million dollar prize. Losing the Honor of Kings final did not cost them the season.
