PGL Major Singapore race: FlyQuest and Chinggis Warriors gain ground as seven Asian teams chase five invites
With Valve's 2 November cut-off approaching, wins for FlyQuest and Chinggis Warriors have tightened Asia's race for five PGL Major Singapore invites.
Asia's race for the PGL Major Singapore has tightened with less than three weeks to go before the 2 November cut-off. FlyQuest and Chinggis Warriors both won events last weekend and gained Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points. According to HLTV, seven teams are now within about 130 points of each other for the five Asia-Pacific invites. The Counter-Strike 2 Major, the first in Singapore, ends with playoffs at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from 10 to 13 December.
How Asia's teams qualify
Valve hands out the Major's 32 invitations using its VRS snapshot of Monday 2 November. Europe is projected to get 18 places, the Americas nine and Asia-Pacific five. Under the current projection, the region's top team starts in Stage 2 and the other four start in Stage 1. Stage 1 begins in late November.
According to HLTV, the seven teams in contention are The MongolZ, TYLOO, Lynn Vision, 5star, FlyQuest, Chinggis Warriors and s1mple's Asia-registered team. The MongolZ, ranked 17th in the world in the 5 October HLTV rankings, are the region's clear leaders. Below them, positions are changing week to week.
FlyQuest win in Brisbane without dropping a map
FlyQuest won ANZC Locals Brisbane Season 2 without losing a map and beat Abyssal 2-0 in the final. HLTV says the title earned them 149 VRS points and moved them up to fifth in the regional standings, ahead of Lynn Vision and 5star. The Australian team plans to play two more DFRAG events in Oceania before the cut-off.
Chinggis Warriors come through the lower bracket in Ulaanbaatar
Chinggis Warriors won the MESA Pro Series Fall 2026 in Mongolia. They lost the opening match 2-1 to 5star on 8 October and then came through the lower bracket. In the grand final on 11 October, they beat 5star 2-1. ROUX had the event's best rating at 1.29.
The win earned Chinggis Warriors 171 VRS points, compared with 94 for 5star. It also made them Mongolia's second-highest-ranked team behind The MongolZ. HLTV provisionally placed Chinggis Warriors fourth in the region, with 5star just outside the invite places in sixth. Projections differ from site to site, though, and with points this close, one event could change the order.
Americas: Wildcard's chances rise
The race is also close in the Americas. Wildcard beat DENDELE 3-2 to win FRAG University 2026 on 12 October, winning the deciding game on Anubis in overtime. HLTV's projection put Wildcard's chances of a Major place at 70%, up from 33% before the final day. It put NRG's chances at 61% after they finished fourth.
The Major's prize pool is US$1.25 million. Singapore is a short trip from Malaysia, and the December playoffs will be one of the biggest CS2 events held in Southeast Asia.
