Evo France 2026 preview: Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 lead the entries as Nice hosts three days of finals

Evo France runs in Nice from 9 to 11 October. Street Fighter 6 has over 1,000 entrants and Tekken 8 almost as many, with Capcom Cup and TWT Finals places at stake.

Evo France 2026 takes place in Nice from Friday, 9 October, to Sunday, 11 October. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 each have close to or more than 1,000 registered players, and the event will award places at Capcom Cup 13 and the Tekken World Tour Finals.

The event is held at the Palais des Expositions at Nice Acropolis, with each game's top 8 played on the main stage. It is one of Evo's regional events, alongside Evo Japan, and one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in Europe.

Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 lead the entries

Street Fighter 6 has the most entrants, with over 1,000 sign-ups, according to Hotspawn, and a €50,000 prize pool. It is part of the Capcom Pro Tour 2026. The winner earns a place at Capcom Cup 13 and €20,000 from the prize pool. Hotspawn named AngryBird and Big Bird among the players to watch.

Tekken 8 has just under 1,000 entrants and a €43,000 prize pool. The champion gets a place at the Tekken World Tour Finals, and every player who places earns tour points, so the event matters for players chasing qualification late in the season.

New games and a farewell for 2XKO

MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls, the new tag fighter from Arc System Works, appears at Evo France for the first time as an Arc World Tour qualifier, with almost 500 entrants. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has more than 250 players and a prize pool of over €28,000.

2XKO has more than 350 players, but this could be one of its last big tournaments. Riot Games has announced that it will wind down development of the game in December 2026, and co-founder Marc Merrill has said the game would have needed a much bigger audience to survive.

Guilty Gear -Strive- and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising are part of the Arc World Tour, and FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves is on the SNK World Championship 2026 circuit. There are also side tournaments for older games, including Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Vampire Savior and King of Fighters XV.
