The Singapore Premier League returns on Friday 11 September 2026, Tampines Rovers against Balestier Khalsa at Our Tampines Hub, 19:30. Matchweek one runs from 11 to 14 September, five days after the Community Shield.

The season in outline

Fixture Date
Community Shield: Lion City Sailors v Tampines Rovers 6 September 2026
Season opener: Tampines Rovers v Balestier Khalsa 11 September 2026
Matchweek one 11-14 September 2026
SPL2 second-tier season began 24 August 2026

Eight clubs, and a familiar name gone

The league runs with eight clubs this season. The most visible change is that Albirex Niigata (S), a fixture of Singaporean football for two decades, now competes as FC Jurong, and Tampines Rovers' partnership with BG Pathum has ended. A second-tier SPL2 competition started on 24 August.

An eight-club league means a high number of repeat meetings across the season, which matters more for form reading than most: by midseason every side has played every other three or four times, and head-to-head records carry real signal rather than being a single data point.

Where the clubs sit in Asia

No Singaporean club is in the AFC Champions League Elite this season. Lion City Sailors are in the AFC Champions League Two group stage, with their first match scheduled for early October, and Tampines Rovers enter at the play-off stage. Both routes run in parallel with the domestic campaign.

Following it on Playdash

Playdash prices the Singapore Premier League with match winner, Asian handicap, over/under, both teams to score, correct score, first and anytime goalscorer on every fixture, plus title, top-four and top goalscorer outrights for the full season. Local kick-off times mean live in-play markets run through the Singapore and Malaysia evening, and SPL fixtures carry the same in-play depth as the European leagues rather than a reduced regional offering.

Season dates, fixtures, club count and the FC Jurong rebrand as published by the Singapore Premier League. AFC Champions League Two dates for Singaporean clubs were provisional at the time of writing on 27 August 2026.
