JiJieHao knock out BC.Game and FaZe at DraculaN to keep slim CS2 Singapore Major hopes alive

Outsiders JiJieHao beat FaZe and BC.Game in Bucharest to finish top three at DraculaN Season 7, keeping a small chance of a PGL Major Singapore invite.

JiJieHao were one of the smaller names at Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 7 in Bucharest, and they went home having beaten both FaZe and BC.Game. Their run to a top-three finish at the US$35,000 event has kept them, just about, in the race for an invite to PGL Major Singapore, the first Counter-Strike 2 Major held in Southeast Asia.

A big week in Bucharest

The tournament ran from 19 to 23 October with 24 teams, a group stage and then a best-of-three double-elimination playoff. On 21 October, JiJieHao beat FaZe 2-1 and sent them into the lower bracket. They then lost 2-0 to SINNERS in the upper bracket semi-finals.

They recovered in the lower bracket by beating Nexus 2-0. That set up a lower bracket final against BC.Game on 22 October. BC.Game had got there by eliminating FaZe 2-0.

BC.Game swept aside

JiJieHao won the lower bracket final 2-0. Dust2 went 13-5, and Ancient was closer, finishing 16-14 in overtime. Dust2.us reported that Hussein "m1N1" Hijazi was the best player in the series with 41 kills, 23 of them on Dust2. For BC.Game, Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold led the scoreboard on Ancient with 27 kills.

The defeat did not affect BC.Game's own Major plans. HLTV said their earlier win over FaZe had already secured them a Major ticket. Valve had given the roster, which includes s1mple, an exception this month that lets it qualify through the Asia region.

The final day

The win put JiJieHao into Friday's consolidation final against Eternal Fire, who had lost the upper final 2-1 to SINNERS. SINNERS were waiting in the grand final. Both matches were played on Friday evening, European time. The results had not been confirmed when this article was written.

How much it means for the Major

HLTV's Major tracker put JiJieHao at around a 5% chance of an invite after the run. A top-two finish in Bucharest followed by a top-three place at HyperX Retake Season 13 in Lisbon (29 October to 1 November) would raise that to around 45%. BC.Game will also be at HyperX Retake, which gives the two teams a possible rematch.

FaZe's elimination puts more weight on the RLG Tesla Cup. HLTV says a top-three finish there would probably be enough to send them to the Major.

Singapore in December

PGL Major Singapore runs from 25 November to 13 December. The finals, from 10 to 13 December, are at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. There are 32 teams and a US$1.25 million prize pool. It is the nearest Major ever for fans in Malaysia, so the Asia-region invites are being watched closely in this part of the world.
