ONIC Philippines Meet Team Liquid PH on Saturday With Five Wins Each and the Same Team Handed Both Their Only Loss
MPL Philippines leaders ONIC PH and Team Liquid PH, both 5-1, meet on 12 September. Team Falcons PH beat both of them.
The top two teams in MPL Philippines Season 18 meet on 12 September, when ONIC Philippines face Team Liquid PH with identical records of five wins and one loss.
Both teams' only defeat came against Team Falcons PH. Falcons beat Team Liquid PH 2-1 on the opening day of the season, 21 August, and ended ONIC's unbeaten start with a 2-1 win on 5 September. Falcons are third on 4-1, their only loss a 2-1 defeat by Omega Esports on 29 August.
Team Liquid PH have won each of their other five series 2-0, against Omega Esports, AP.Bren, Aurora Gaming PH, TNC Pro Team and Twisted Minds PH. ONIC won their first five matches, beating Aurora, AP.Bren and Twisted Minds 2-0 and Omega and TNC 2-1, before the loss to Falcons.
Below the top three, Omega Esports are 2-2, TNC Pro Team 2-3, Aurora Gaming PH 1-3 and AP.Bren 1-4, while Twisted Minds PH are without a win after five matches.
Week four begins on 11 September with Omega Esports against Twisted Minds PH and Aurora Gaming PH against AP.Bren. On 12 September Twisted Minds PH play TNC Pro Team and Team Falcons PH face AP.Bren before ONIC and Team Liquid PH close the day at 7.30pm Philippine time. On 13 September TNC Pro Team meet Omega Esports and Falcons play Aurora Gaming PH.
The regular season is a double round robin of best-of-three matches among eight franchise teams. The top six advance to the playoffs, and the top two teams of the season qualify for the M8 World Championship. Team Liquid PH are the defending champions and Team Falcons PH were last season's runners-up.
