F1 standings after Singapore GP: Antonelli 102 points clear of Russell and can clinch the title in Austin
Kimi Antonelli leads George Russell 340-238 after Singapore. A win in Austin, with Russell 10th or lower and Hamilton fifth or lower, would seal the 2026 crown.
Kimi Antonelli left Singapore with one hand on the 2026 Formula 1 world championship. His third place at Marina Bay on 11 October, while Mercedes team-mate George Russell recovered only to ninth, stretched the Italian's lead to 102 points with six Grands Prix remaining. That means the title can be decided as early as the next round, the United States Grand Prix in Austin on 25 October. This follows on from our pre-race standings piece published after the Singapore sprint.
Drivers' standings after Singapore
Antonelli now has 340 points. Russell is second on 238, with Lewis Hamilton (229), Max Verstappen (221), Charles Leclerc (215) and Lando Norris (201) completing the top six. Oscar Piastri is seventh on 138, ahead of Isack Hadjar (97) and Liam Lawson (75).
Antonelli came into Sunday 89 points clear after the sprint. He scored 15 points for third, Russell two for ninth, so the gap grew by 13 to 102. Verstappen was the big mover of the weekend, collecting 33 points from his sprint and Grand Prix wins. The fight for second place is now tight: only 37 points separate Russell in second from Norris in sixth.
Constructors' standings
Mercedes lead the teams' table on 578 points, 134 ahead of Ferrari on 444, with McLaren third on 339. Red Bull are fourth. With six races left, a team can still score up to 43 points per weekend, or 258 in total, so Ferrari remain mathematically in contention and the constructors' title cannot be settled in Austin. The published constructors' table also remains subject to Audi's notice of intention to appeal a decision from the Italian Grand Prix.
How Antonelli can win the title in Austin
There are no sprints left in 2026, so six Grands Prix at 25 points apiece leave 150 points available. After Austin, 125 will remain. To be champion in Texas, Antonelli effectively needs to leave with a lead of more than 125 points over every rival.
The cleanest route is this: Antonelli wins, Russell finishes 10th or lower, and Hamilton finishes fifth or lower. That would put Antonelli on 365 and nobody else above 239. Second place is not enough on its own, because even with Russell failing to score the gap would only be 120. If Antonelli wins and Russell takes eighth, or Hamilton fourth, the decision moves on to Mexico City on 1 November.
Remaining calendar
After Austin, the season continues in Mexico City (1 November), Sao Paulo (8 November), Las Vegas (21 November), Qatar (29 November) and Abu Dhabi (6 December). Russell has also said he expects to take a further engine penalty later in the season, which would make his task harder still.
If Antonelli does seal the crown at Austin, he would be 20 years old and the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history, beating the record Sebastian Vettel set at 23 in 2010.
