Formula One Put a Sprint in Monaco and Brought Back Turkey and Portugal on Its Next Twenty Four Race Calendar
The Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled for 10 October 2027 as the last leg of a triple header with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Formula One published its 2027 calendar on 16 September 2026, with 24 Grands Prix in 22 countries and 10 sprint events, including the first sprint at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The season will start in Bahrain on 14 March 2027 after pre-season testing at the same circuit from 24 to 27 February, and finish in Abu Dhabi on 12 December. Portugal returns at Portimao on 20 June, and Turkey returns in Istanbul on 3 October, according to Crash.net and PlanetF1. Crash.net reported that Barcelona and the Dutch Grand Prix are not on the schedule.
Singapore is scheduled for 10 October 2027, the final race of a triple header after Azerbaijan on 26 September and Turkey. The sprint venues are Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, Montreal, Silverstone, Monza, Sao Paulo, Lusail and Abu Dhabi, with three of the last four races of the season being sprints.
The Race reported that F1 has a contingency plan to start the season with the Australian, Chinese and Japanese races if the opening events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia cannot go ahead because of tensions in the Middle East. It said limiting practice at Monaco was meant to add variability to the weekend. F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali said the calendar brings together some of the most iconic circuits and vibrant cities in the world.
The current season continues with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, which takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026.
