T1 Play Hanwha Life at the KSPO Dome This Weekend and All Four Korean Worlds Places Are Already Settled

The LCK playoffs finish on 12 and 13 September at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, with the lower bracket final and the grand final on the two nights. Earlier rounds were played at LoL PARK and the INSPIRE Arena.

The bracket is double elimination and every series is a best of five, played with Fearless Draft. Gen.G beat KT Rolster 3-0 and then Hanwha Life 3-1 in the upper bracket final, so they go straight to the grand final. Hanwha Life had beaten T1 3-2 on the way. In the lower bracket, Dplus KIA beat KT Rolster 3-1 on 4 September and then lost 1-3 to T1, which sets up T1 against Hanwha Life for the other place in the final.

Korea has four places at Worlds this year rather than three, because Hanwha Life won MSI, beating Bilibili Gaming 3-2. All four are now settled: Hanwha Life, Gen.G, T1 and Dplus KIA. KT Rolster and BNK FEARX are out, and the fifth and sixth placed teams go to the Demacia Cup Global Invitational instead.

What this weekend still decides is seeding, which is not a small thing.

Worlds runs from 15 October to 14 November. Play-ins are at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, which holds about 300, the Swiss stage and the quarter-finals and semi-finals are at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, and the final is at the Barclays Center in New York. The opening T1 series against BNK FEARX peaked above 1.2 million viewers.
