Team Falcons Left Dota Two and Released Their International Winning Five as the Post Season Shuffle Accelerated
Xtreme Gaming unveiled a rebuilt roster and OG parted with their coach in a week that reshaped the top of the game.
Team Falcons announced on 6 September 2026 that they are leaving Dota 2 and released their entire roster, setting off a wave of changes across the game in the days that followed.
The five players released were Oliver Lepko of Slovakia, Stanislav Potorak of Russia, Ammar Al-Assaf of Jordan, who captained the side, Andreas Nielsen of Denmark and Jingjun Wu of the United States. Four are now free agents. Nielsen has indicated he is likely finished competing but has not formally retired. The Saudi Arabian organisation said in a statement that its global focus was shifting towards ecosystems offering greater strategic alignment and long-term operational sustainability.
Xtreme Gaming revealed a rebuilt roster on 11 September, with Guo Hongcheng returning in the middle lane and Zhao Zixing at position four, joined by Nicholas Lim of Singapore in the offlane and Ye Zhibiao at position five. Wang Yutian was promoted from assistant to head coach.
OG parted ways with coach Adam Shah on 12 September, three days after releasing Erin Jasper Ferrer, Marc Polo Luis Fausto and Timothy Randrup. Only Natsumi- and Skem remain on the roster.
The shuffle runs into a busy autumn. PGL Wallachia Season 9 begins in Bucharest on 17 September with sixteen teams and a prize pool of one million US dollars, of which 300,000 goes to the winner. BLAST Slam VIII follows with an online stage from 29 September and finals at the BLAST Arena Studios in Malta from 8 to 11 October, expanded to sixteen teams with a 750,000 dollar pool.
