US Open 2026 Begins August 24 With Alcaraz and Sabalenka Defending in New York

The final Grand Slam of the season gets underway in New York on August 24, with the 146th US Open running through September 13. Qualifying occupies August 24 to 27, the draw ceremony follows on August 27, and main-draw play begins on August 30. The women's final is set for September 12, the men's for September 13.

Carlos Alcaraz returns as defending men's champion and Aryna Sabalenka defends on the women's side, both facing the familiar hard-court gauntlet of best-of-season form and New York's late-night scheduling. Seeding will be set from the rankings published on August 24, with the top 32 in each draw protected from meeting before the third round.

The field has taken a few hits. Emma Raducanu and Sebastian Korda are among the withdrawals, while Gael Monfils and Sebastian Gorzny received men's wildcards and Leolia Jeanjean took a women's wildcard.

Playdash is following the build-up from the ranking cutoff through the draw ceremony, tracking how seeding, withdrawals and hard-court form move US Open outright and match odds.
