Valorant offseason opens: nAts, qpert among free agents as Riot reveals Hush for 27 October

Valorant's offseason is under way. A few days after LOUD beat Team Vitality 3-1 in the Champions Shanghai grand final on 18 October, a wave of players and staff have entered free agency or been released. Riot Games also used the grand final stage to reveal Hush, a new Duelist, who is due in the game on 27 October.

Big names looking for 2027 teams

Team Liquid captain nAts, a Sentinel and in-game leader, said he is looking for a team ahead of the 2027 VCT season. He joined Liquid in November 2022. He is open to joining a team in any region, according to The Spike. He is still in talks with Liquid, which has allowed him to explore other options, so a return is not ruled out. Liquid finished 9th to 12th at Champions Shanghai.

PCIFIC in-game leader qpert also announced on 10 October that he is exploring his options for 2027, per VLR. His contract runs to the end of 2026. He said he wants an in-game leader role and is willing to relocate to any region.

Teams and staff on the move

VLR's transfer log shows plenty of other movement in October:

• BESTIA, a Latin American team, said on 8 October that it will step away from Valorant and release its entire roster.
• GIANTX signed CyvOph and globeX in early October. On 19 October, pipsoN left to become GIANTX's head coach.
• wayne left Team Liquid on 12 October, according to VLR's transfer log.
• Joblife hired Pakko as head coach for 2027.

Most of these moves are announcements that players are available rather than new signings. PCIFIC's general coordinator said all five players and the head coach stay under contract until the end of the season, for example.

Hush: the 31st agent

Riot revealed Hush in a cinematic after the Champions Shanghai opening ceremony, according to Sheep Esports. She is a Duelist and the 31st agent in the game. CGMagazine says she is described as a telekinetic Duelist from China and that she will arrive on 27 October, when Act VI begins.

Riot has not confirmed her full kit in the sources checked, and early descriptions of her abilities differ between reports. Players who follow the patch notes will get the details nearer the release.

What to watch next

Champions Shanghai ended on 18 October, which is when most teams begin planning for 2027.

The offseason now runs until the 2027 season, and more announcements are likely in the coming weeks as teams rebuild. Both nAts and qpert say they are open to moving regions, but neither has announced a new team yet.
