More Than One Hundred Growers Will Bring Giant Marrows and Pumpkins to Malvern for a World Record Hunt
A new class pits amateurs and veterans against the sponsor's own growing team for the title of Britain's heaviest aubergine and a 1,000 pound prize.
More than 100 growers are expected at the CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship, staged at the Malvern Autumn Show at the Three Counties Showground in Worcestershire from 25 to 27 September 2026.
The championship has become known for producing Guinness World Records. Six were set at the 2025 edition, including a 7.848 metre radish grown by Joe Atherton, an 8.01kg celeriac from Chris Marriott and a 4.39kg tomato from Douglas Smith.
A class has been added for 2026. The Giant Clash pits first time growers and established competitors against the sponsor's own growing team for the title of Britain's heaviest aubergine, with 1,000 pounds on offer and free seed for anyone who registers.
The show also includes a harvest pavilion with more than 100 grow to show classes, an RHS flower show and a baking competition tent. Advance tickets start at 22 pounds and children aged 16 and under are admitted free.
The Great Pumpkin Commonwealth lists the Malvern weigh-in for 24 September, the day before the show opens to the public. Elsewhere in Europe the Dutch national pumpkin championship is weighed at Breda on 19 September, where the record to beat is 1,017.5kg.
