Yoshinori Muto Struck After the Hour as Vissel Kobe Beat Port Two One at Thammasat Stadium
Ren Komatsu scored at both ends in Thailand, putting the visitors ahead early before turning a header into his own net before half-time.
Vissel Kobe beat Port FC 2-1 at Thammasat Stadium in Thailand on 17 September 2026 in their opening match of the AFC Champions League Elite.
Ren Komatsu put the Japanese side in front in the 10th minute. Port drew level before the interval when a header from Issam Al Sabhi was turned past the visiting goalkeeper by Komatsu for an own goal.
Yoshinori Muto settled the contest in the 61st minute, scoring what proved to be the winner just after the hour mark. The Asian Football Confederation said the result gave Vissel a road victory to begin their campaign.
Vissel reached the semi-finals of the competition last season and started this one as one of the East region's stronger sides. Port, who qualified through the Thai League, had the consolation of having pegged the visitors back before half-time on home soil.
Elsewhere in Asian club football on the same evening, BG Pathum United of Thailand took a point in Singapore against Lion City Sailors and Cambodia's Phnom Penh Crown beat Malaysia's Kuching City 2-1, both in the AFC Champions League Two.
