How the East table looks after three rounds
Kashima Antlers and Vissel Kobe are the only teams with three wins from three, on nine points each. Kashima beat Pohang 3-0 last week and have the best goal difference in the region.
JDT have seven points after a 1-1 draw with Buriram, a 2-0 win at Pohang and a 3-0 home win over Port FC. They are level on points with Gamba Osaka and Beijing Guoan, and sit in the top four on goal difference and goals scored. Kyoto Sanga have six points after a 5-2 win over Newcastle Jets.
Jeonbuk have four points. They opened with a win and a defeat, then drew 2-2 away to Beijing Guoan on Matchday 3. A home win would lift them right into the crowded mid-table group, while a JDT win would leave the Malaysian champions well placed in the top four with half the league phase played.
The Thai and Vietnamese angle
Three Thai clubs are in action this week. Port FC have yet to collect a point and host Beijing Guoan in Pathum Thani. Ratchaburi, who held Kashiwa Reysol 0-0 last time out, face a difficult trip to Kobe. Buriram United, with two points from two draws, host table-toppers Kashima on Wednesday.
Cong An Ha Noi got their first points by winning 3-2 in Shanghai on Matchday 3, and they now host Kyoto Sanga. Pohang, Port FC and Newcastle Jets are still looking for their first point.
JDT's busy November
The trip to Korea begins a demanding month for JDT. After Jeonbuk, they host DPMM in the Liga Super on 8 November. They then travel to face Cong An Ha Noi in Hanoi on 19 November (8.30pm) and Ratchaburi in Thailand on 24 November (8.15pm) in the Champions League Elite. Three of those four matches are away from home.
