Valorant Stage 2 Wraps August 16 as Teams Fight for a Path to Champions Shanghai

The 2026 Valorant Champions Tour is reaching a decisive point. Stage 2, which began on June 30, concludes on August 16 after a playoff roadshow that carried matches through Sao Paulo, Chengdu, Madrid and Busan, the first time the stage's knockout rounds have toured multiple regions in a single season.

Attention now shifts to the Season Finals, running from August 5 to September 6. This year brings a structural change worth noting: for the first time, Challengers teams compete directly against VCT sides for a place at the world championship rather than playing for franchise promotion. It widens the qualification path and adds genuine upset potential to a stage that used to be closed off.

Everything funnels toward Valorant Champions Shanghai, scheduled for September 24 to October 18, where 16 teams will contest the title. Earlier in the season, Masters Santiago and Masters London set the international benchmarks.
