PUBG Global Championship 2026 Runs December 1 to 13 in Istanbul With a New Three-Tier Entry System
Thirty-two teams, $1.5 million and a format that lets the top eight skip straight to the Grand Finals. Thailand's FULL SENSE defend a title they won from a host wildcard slot.
The PUBG Global Championship goes to Istanbul this year, running 1-13 December for a prize pool of $1.5 million - $1,310,000 in ranking prizes plus $190,000 in special awards, before crowdfunding.
Three doors, not one
The biggest change is that the 32-team field no longer starts together. Entry is now tiered:
- Eight teams go straight to the Grand Finals (11-13 December)
- Eight enter at Survival Stage Day 1 (2-6 December)
- Sixteen start in the Qualifying Stage (1 December)
Regional allocation runs: eight global seeds from the PUBG Global Series, four each from the Americas, China and EMEA, three each from Korea, Thailand and Vietnam, two from the rest of Asia-Pacific, and one host wildcard for Turkiye.
For anyone pricing the event, the tiering matters more than the seeding. A top-seeded roster now plays a third fewer matches before the Grand Finals, which cuts variance for the favourites and removes the classic PGC storyline of a strong team burning out in an over-long group stage.
The route in
The 2026 season restructured around the PUBG Global Series: four circuits of three series each, 12 series in total, worth $2 million combined - $100,000 for each of the first two series in a circuit and $300,000 for the circuit final.
Circuit 3 was played in Shanghai, with PGS 7 on 5-9 August, PGS 8 on 13-16 August and the PGS 9 Series Final on 20-23 August, which is finishing now. Second-half circuits carry doubled PGS Points, so Circuit 4 is where the direct PGC seeds are actually decided: the top eight in annual PGS Points after PGS 12 go through automatically, with the other 24 places coming from Regional Series.
The holders
FULL SENSE of Thailand won PGC 2025 in Bangkok on 155 points for $500,000, ahead of Virtus.pro on 129 and NAVI on 128 - and they did it from the host-region wildcard slot, which is exactly the seat Turkiye occupies this year.
