Felicity Wilson-Haffenden Won the Under Twenty Three Women's Time Trial World Title in Montreal

Wilson-Haffenden's time of twenty seven minutes forty seconds was the only ride under twenty eight minutes, with the Netherlands' Nienke Vinke taking silver.

Australia's Felicity Wilson-Haffenden won the under-23 women's individual time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, Canada, on 21 September 2026, completing the 20.3-kilometre course in 27 minutes 40 seconds.

Nienke Vinke of the Netherlands took silver, 28 seconds behind, and Belgium's Luca Vierstraete won bronze in 28:25. Wilson-Haffenden, who averaged 44kph, was the only rider to finish in under 28 minutes.

Vinke, the 20th rider to start, had been the first to reach the opening checkpoint in under eight minutes and sat as provisional leader for almost an hour. Wilson-Haffenden was second at the first checkpoint before going fastest through the second and extending her advantage over the final section.

Wilson-Haffenden, already Australia's elite time trial champion, is a former junior world champion, having won that title in Glasgow in 2023.

There was no medal for the hosts, with Ava Holmgren the better of Canada's two entrants in sixth place in 28:42. A total of 52 riders started the race.

The women's under-23 result followed the elite time trials on 20 September, when Marlen Reusser retained the women's title and Remco Evenepoel won a fourth consecutive men's crown. The championships run until 27 September, when the elite road races bring the week to a close.
