Chinas Third Split Decides a Worlds Seed and the Final Is in Brooklyn on the Fourteenth of November
T1 are defending and going for a fourth in a row, in a nineteen-team Worlds split across three American venues.
The LPL's third split playoffs are running now. The winner takes the season championship and a direct place at the World Championship.
The upper bracket quarter-finals were TES against LGD Gaming on 29 August and JD Gaming against Team WE on 30 August. Bilibili Gaming and Anyone's Legend had byes into the upper bracket semi-finals on 3 and 4 September. It is double elimination, best of five throughout, with a prize pool reported at around four million yuan.
The grand final has been put at 12 or 13 September by secondary outlets. The league itself has not confirmed the format dates, so treat that as unsettled.
Worlds runs from 15 October to 14 November across three venues. The play-in is at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. The Swiss stage, quarter-finals and semi-finals are at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, which holds 8,100. The final is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which holds 19,000.
Nineteen teams. The LCK and the LPL get four slots each. The LEC, the LCS and the LCP get three each. CBLOL gets two.
T1 are the defending champions and are going for a fourth title in a row.
