Game Changers Championship: KRÜ BLAZE and MIBR complete final four as Liquid Brazil and SK Nebula exit
KRÜ BLAZE and MIBR GC won lower-bracket sweeps in São Paulo to stay alive, setting up a meeting on Friday while Gentle Mates and Shopify Rebellion Gold contest the upper final.
Four teams remain at the Valorant Game Changers Championship in São Paulo after KRÜ BLAZE and MIBR GC won their lower-bracket elimination matches on Wednesday. KRÜ BLAZE beat Team Liquid Brazil 2-0 and MIBR GC swept SK Nebula 2-0, so both Liquid Brazil and SK Nebula leave the tournament in joint fifth place. The two winners now face each other, while the unbeaten Gentle Mates GC and Shopify Rebellion Gold meet in the upper-bracket final.
MIBR GC give SK Nebula nothing
MIBR GC's win over SK Nebula was the most one-sided result of the event so far. On Summit, SK Nebula's own map pick, the Brazilian side won 13-0. They followed that with a 13-4 win on their pick, Lotus, to finish the series in two maps. Waved and mizzy led the way for MIBR on Summit, and no SK Nebula player finished that map with a positive kill-death difference.
The result keeps the home-region side alive after their 2-0 defeat to Gentle Mates GC in the upper semi-finals on Tuesday.
KRÜ BLAZE end Liquid Brazil's run
KRÜ BLAZE also needed only two maps. They won their Summit pick 13-9 and then took Liquid Brazil's Haven pick 13-6, so the Ascent decider was not needed. Tok1o topped the scoreboard on Summit and micaela led the way on Haven.
Liquid Brazil had won two elimination matches in a row, against Nova Esports GC and G2 Gozen, after losing to Gentle Mates in the upper quarter-finals. KRÜ BLAZE had dropped into the lower bracket after a 2-0 loss to Shopify Rebellion Gold on Tuesday.
Two teams still unbeaten
Gentle Mates GC and Shopify Rebellion Gold have not lost a series in Brazil. Gentle Mates beat Team Liquid Brazil and MIBR GC, both 2-0. Shopify Rebellion Gold, the North American side, swept SK Nebula and KRÜ BLAZE by the same score.
The winner of their upper final goes straight to the grand final. The loser drops into the lower final against whichever team wins between KRÜ BLAZE and MIBR GC.
