Malaysian MotoGP ticket watch: Premier seats sold out, Hakim Danish Tribune filling fast five weeks out

With five weeks to Sepang's MotoGP round, several ticket categories are down to their last few hundred seats; Friday entry is free.

The spotlight at Sepang is on Formula 1 next weekend, but tickets for the circuit's usual big event are also selling quickly. Five weeks before the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia (30 October to 1 November), Sepang International Circuit's (SIC) ticketing page shows one category sold out and several others running low.

Where tickets stand

When PlayDash checked SIC's official event page this week, it listed the following. Remaining numbers are approximate and change daily.

Category Price (RM) Status
Premier Seat 640.00 Sold out
Premier Roving 510.00 About 1,100 left
Hakim Danish Tribune 425.00 About 400 left
Main Grandstand 345.00 About 10,500 left
Marc Márquez Tribune (K1) 256.25 About 1,100 left
K1 Grandstand 206.25 About 600 left
F Grandstand 143.75 About 1,600 left
K2 Hillstand (MyKad only) 49.90 About 3,000 left

SIC also lists free entry to all seating zones on Friday, 30 October. That is a good option for fans who want to watch practice without buying a full weekend ticket. The MotoGP VIP Village hospitality packages are sold out.

A grandstand for Hakim

The most talked-about category is new this year. In July, SIC announced it would name a grandstand after Moto3 rider Hakim Danish after his breakthrough season. He took his first Grand Prix podium at Mugello and then won at Brno. That win made him the first Malaysian to win a Moto3 race since Khairul Idham Pawi in 2016.

According to SIC, the Hakim Danish Tribune sits "right at the centre of the circuit". It overlooks the start-finish straight, pit entry and exit, and the team pit boxes, and it is fully covered. Ticket holders can use the MotoGP Mega Carnival in the mall area and watch on three giant screens on the north side and two on the south. SIC is promoting the stand with the tagline "Our National Pride".

The Hakim Danish Tribune joins the Marc Márquez Tribune at K1, overlooking Turn 1, is priced at RM256.25. SIC describes it as a fan favourite that usually sells out early.

A record to beat

Demand has been growing. The 2025 Malaysian Grand Prix drew 190,977 spectators, which GPOne reported as the highest attendance in the event's history. That was despite road closures for the ASEAN Summit, which was held in Kuala Lumpur the same weekend. SIC chief executive Azhan Shafriman Hanif told Bernama at the time: "Although we did not reach the target of 200,000 spectators, we are grateful for the encouraging turnout."

The event's long-term future is secure. The Malaysian government approved a new deal in April that keeps MotoGP at Sepang from 2027 to 2031. MotoGP chief executive Carmelo Ezpeleta said then that "Malaysia is an important market for MotoGP, where we have a strong fanbase and have seen the positive economic impact increase year-on-year."

Tip for fans

If you want a specific seat, especially the Hakim Danish Tribune or K1, don't wait until after the F1 weekend. Buy only from SIC's official platform or authorised agents. Remember that the RM49.90 K2 Hillstand ticket is for MyKad holders only.
