Nongshim and Global Esports Meet in Busan This Evening and Paper Rex Are Going to Shanghai Regardless

The VCT Pacific Stage 2 grand final is a best-of-five at Sajik Arena. All four Pacific slots at Champions were settled before it.

Nongshim RedForce and Global Esports play the VCT Pacific Stage 2 grand final at Sajik Arena in Busan at five o'clock this evening Korean time, four in the afternoon in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Best-of-five, and a rematch of Friday.

Nongshim won that upper final 2-1, taking Haven 13-7 and Abyss 13-6 either side of losing Ascent 13-12 in overtime. Francis finished with 59 kills across the series and Dambi with 58. Global Esports then came back through the lower final on Saturday, 3-1 against T1.

Getting there took Global Esports four series in the lower bracket. Nongshim's route was shorter: 2-0 against Paper Rex in the first round, then 2-1 against Gen.G, dropping only Summit.

The qualification question is already closed. Pacific holds four slots at Valorant Champions. Paper Rex took one on championship points and were then knocked out by VARREL in the second round of the lower bracket, which is an unusual way to spend a fortnight. Nongshim, Global Esports and T1 hold the other three.

So this evening decides seeding and a share of a 250,000 dollar prize pool, and nothing else. Champions runs in Shanghai from 24 September to 18 October for 2,250,000 dollars.

The playoffs were held in Seoul in late August and moved to Busan for the finals weekend, with the local esports association giving tickets away for it.
